About

I'm Dawid — Senior SRE based in Gdańsk, Poland. I've spent the last decade in development, infrastructure, reliability, and platform engineering, working my way from internal tools, automation and test environments at Intel through DevOps lead roles to being the first SRE hire at CaptivateIQ, where I've been for 4+ years.

At CIQ I've led a full Heroku→AWS migration, driven the company-wide SLO rollout, and launched infrastructure for EU and AU regions. My day-to-day stack is AWS (ECS/RDS/S3/EC2/Networking/Route53/Lambda/RDS/more), Terraform (and Terramate), Python and Go — with a heavy focus on making distributed systems reliable, observable, fully tested, resilient, and cheap to run.

I write here under LazyDev — occasional posts on SRE, infrastructure, DevOps, and the tools I use to get my work done. No fluff, no hot takes, just practical insights and the tools I actually use. No content calendars, no padding.

Lately I've been spending a lot of time with LLMs (Claude being my personal favorite) — both as a user and as someone integrating them into workflows. I'm particularly interested in the practical side: agent frameworks, tool use, prompt engineering that doesn't suck, and where AI genuinely fits into an SRE's toolkit versus where it's noise. Expect posts on that.

When I'm not working, I'm somewhere between wrangling a home renovation, having fun with my family, learning Go seriously, and keeping two cats from knocking things over.
